It is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. On behalf of Ashton Hayes and Horton-cum-Peel Parish Council and the residents of the parish, we offer our deepest sympathy to members of the Royal Family for their loss at the death of Queen Elizabeth as both queen and head of their family.
We remember with immense gratitude her lifetime of service devoted to our country and the Commonwealth. Queen Elizabeth has been a faithful servant to us all, and for many she has provided continuity and stability as the head of our democracy. For many people she has been a constant presence for most of our lives. There have been many events in her reign, both highlights and also difficult times. We will remember both her commitment and what she achieved.
