Volunteer News and Celebrations

Posted on behalf of the chair of Ashton Hayes and Horton cum Peel Parish Council

As chairman of Ashton Hayes and Horton cum Peel parish council I would like to remind everyone that this week is volunteers’ week. I cannot think of a more perfect time to thank all the Bridging the Gap scheme volunteers for everything they have been doing since lockdown began. They have been amazing and I am sure you will want to join me in saying THANK YOU to everyone involved. Without your efforts so many local people would have had a much more difficult time.

Well done to all involved. You are all greatly appreciated.

In other breaking news … OPAL, as an organisation with 200+ volunteers, has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is a real achievement for them and they of course have been one of the contributory partners in our Bridging the Gap scheme. Well done to OPAL and all its volunteers!
